PRODUCT DETAILS

Creative bound sketchbook
10 for 10.30 - 4pm

This chunky, bound, creative sketchbook or journal will focus on your own personal theme with imagery, drawings, and writings.
Using photographic references, the painted pages will be filled with marks, sketches, and collages. The basics of design and composition will be reviewed to create a wonderful source of inspiration for future work.
At the end of the second day, you will have created a great little book which you can continue to add to, creating a stitch and art textile source of inspiration for the future.

Day 1 - Monday 29th
With black and white and colour copies of your own images and writing on a personal theme, we will paint paper, collate the "signature" sections and learn about simple book binding.
Day 2 - Tuesday 30th April
On the second day we will work into the book pages with a number of drawings, mark making, collage and composition exercises and review the basics of design along the way.

You will be using a personal theme as a starting point.
For example, you may choose a favourite holiday, your garden, or a particular walk.
Or choose an interest you have such a hobby, something you collect, fashion, historic places, architecture or the urban landscape.
Absolutely anything goes.

Sandra will send information about preparing the black and white photocopies closer to the time, but if you wish, you could start researching now by taking photographs and written notes around your chosen theme.

Sandra will supply each student with a kit for both sessions.

Please arrive just after 10am for a 10.30 start.
There will be a short 20 to 30 break for lunch. There’s not enough time to go out for food as there is a lot to complete in the session. Therefore, we recommend bringing a packed lunch.
Ends at 4pm
