"These two paintings (Pink Haze and Essential Details) were made at Newlyn on a rainy day when I couldn’t be outside drawing and painting.
They are part of a series of four works which were made over the course of a couple of days in response to a floral still life which was draped in neon pink gauze. I loved the vibrancy of the pink set against the more traditional arrangement of flowers in a vase.
The paintings are mixed media and they became increasingly abstracted through the series. Pink Haze is number 2 and Essential Details is number 4."
